Greetings my shambling shuffling friends!

I am as giddy as a gorey school girl over Bob Fingerman's RECESS PIECES courtesy of Dark Horse Books.

What makes this story so great is the fact that Bob Fingerman is not just a good storyteller, but also a cool artist. His drawings remind me of a mix of cartooning and caricatures, and as a result Mr. Fingerman is able to use those cartooning exagerations to bring out and portray stereotypes really well, not to mention drawing some kick butt gorey zombies.

The story starts at a local school with a science professor and some geeks working on a science project. Through their bumblings they release a noxious purple gas that floats through the halls infecting all who have gone through puberty, turning them into flesh hungry zombies.

A group of pre-puberty tykes are forced to band together to fight their way to safety through their ever more dangerous school halls, which is kinda difficult being that the doors were chained shut on the inside by the principal in an attempt to keep kids from cutting class, which is also in violation of fire codes.

These kids put up a helluva fight as they try to stay alive, and you will love watching the stereotypes succumb to the jaws of the undead.

I recommend you introduce yourself to the works of Bob Fingerman, he is definatley an author who is gonna make his mark on the literary world.

So let me ask you, if you were with a group of kids trapped in a school with zombies and the doors were chained, how would you escape?
