The Walking Dead Fan Club

(SUPER SPOILERS BEWARE!!)

A break down: 

- The group spreads out and searches for Dale in the woods.

- Eugene and father Gabriel talk about God.

- Andrea is devastated. She say's she can't go on without Dale.

- Abraham is pissed off that they're wasting their time looking

when,  A zombie attacks from the bushes!

- Before destroying it, Eugene is fascinated by the creatures

Deteriorating motor skills.

- The group stops the search because of night coming on and heads to Gabriel's church.

- They get to the church and Andera hears someone in the nearby woods.

- Gabriel is confruted by Rick & Andrea. They call bullsh*t on his story.

- Father Gabriel tells his true story. How the night the dead started coming back he locked himself in his church. The next morning people started showing up to get shelter, but he wouldn't let them in. They we're all consumed by undead.

- Gabriel believes God sent Rick's group to judge him and kill him for his crimes.

- Rick believes him.

- Abraham believes that there may be "Some group of Dick faces." out there

and that as long as they keep their heads Rick's group has an advantage.

- Rick believes they're jumping at shadows. 

- A group of shadowed men sit around a picnic table eating. Talking about Rick's group.

- Dale laying on the ground wakes up.

-  A man introduces himself as "Chris".  Looking down on Dale smiling he talks about how there's an order to how things work and how it's unfortunate for some.

Chris, "It's nothing personal... but at the end of the day. No matter how

much we may detest this ugly buisness...

... A man's gotta eat."

- We see Dale laying on the ground. His left leg has been amputated to the knee. His leg in the background cooking over an open fire pit.

Eat! Talk! 

DALE MENU:

Monday - Roasted Leg 

Tuesday - Arm Chops 

Wednesday - Upper Thigh Steaks 

Thursday - BBQ Ribs 

Friday - Heart & Liver Pie

Saturday - Chilled Brains 

Sunday - Bone Marrow Soup

Chief Chris - Bon Appetit!

I just read this and i have to say WOW.... it gave me this uneasy feeling of "oh shit..." when i read the last page. Also chew was really good i think i might buy the second one.

Very true BTW I was lucky to have it on my sub list cause my LCS was sold out already and I got there a couple days after Chew #2 came out.

Ok something after thinking about it for a little bit.  Father Gaberial may not know whats going on at this point but I think once he sees who the hunters really are he is gonna reconize them as part of his church group. Another thing is the hunters had a big ole bon fire going to cook up leg of dale I think that someone "Abe or Rick" mainly would have noticed the smoke signals on the herizon. No?

i would think that they would. It would be hard not to notice a huge bonfire. 

the last page of dale is killer!!! i would like to buy that art.my prediction dale gets eaten in a full page spread that would be awsome!!!

Also on the next cover it looks like Dale is making an escape. How is that even possible?

I dug the issue, but found the cannibalism thing to be a bit disappointing.   Not so much from many of us guessing correctly, but more from its delivery.  The scene just screamed "Preacher."  That, and i found Gabriel's origin (if you will) to be a bit insipid. 

On the plus side, Abe's scenes were the highlight of this issue.  Especially his talk with Andrea.  And I really hope Dale survives now, and gets rescued by the group.  Can you imagine the tension between everyone while they're being constantly slowed down by a cranky, self pitying, double amputee Dale? 

I dug the issue like crazy. A lot of good dialogue and the art was the shit!!!! And Dale, WHAT!! That is crazy!! Yes, yes, and yes.

I thought this was another great issue. I think the next issue(the one with Dale in the cross hairs) is most likely Andrea giving him a mercy kill. Maybe now Rick can get with her. I have had a feeling that they would get to gether since he saved her from the thomas. I am sure we will lose some of the crew but, I think if they are smart and put a sniper in the bell tower they my be able to defend the church. Can't wait intill next month.
