Hey guys,

I'm holding a poll over at The Walking Dead Podcast trying to see if any of our listeners/visitors would be interested in getting together for a viewing Party for the Premiere. Since our two websites are pretty buddy buddy, I'd like to extend the invitation over to you guys.  We're planning on holding the event in Northern California (Concord, CA) and wanted to know if any locals would want to come or if people would be willing to travel.

We're in the early stages of planning but we're going to hold it at a local bar/restraunt. We plan to do a podcast afterwards where we interview some of the guests attending. We also plan to do some prize giveaways (the more sponsors we get the more we'll give out). Maybe it could be a dress as a zombie theme? and have a zombie walk before ?

Anyways, here's the little info we have:

Event: The Walking Dead Viewing Premiere Party

Date: Tentative: 10/24 or 10/31

Time: Tentative: 7:00PM or 10:00PM

Where: Somewhere around Concord, CA

What: A party to celebrate the premiere of The Walking Dead. There will also be a live podcast to follow where attendees can give some input to what they thought. There will also be giveaways.

As a Hero I used to fight on the side for good. I learned it's boring. Being a villainous hero is much more fun!

I know a lot of members are in the chicagoland area- anyone wanna recommend a place to maybe rent out for the night- which will probably be impossible on Halloween weekend.  Also, whats this about the show not being broadcast in HD?

Its true. Dish and Direct TV aren't going to air it in HD.  Contract disputes with AMC.  Only Time Warner or another cable provider will air it in HD

Dish and Direct TV almost dropped AMC which really freaked me out for awhile there.

Please tell me the other cable provider is Comcast, Cablevision.

They show all other AMC shows in HD, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for TWD.

Yeah, you're good as long as you don't have Sat like me.  I'm hoping the contracts will be resigned by October

It is Comcast. I am ordering cable next month, and they list AMC HD as one of their high def channels
