I own harcover Book 1, and i really liked the additional content.

Can anyone tell me what additional content are in Books 2,3,4, and 5? Any of them.

I already have TP 1-12, but are the hardcover books worth getting anyway? thanks.

I prefer TPBs and collect them myself, but a hardcover really is $20 for 12 issues and covers (not sure if that means anything to you) that makes each issue about $1.80 with tax, while I think with a TP it's more like $2.68 per issue. I've kinda noticed buying bulk is just more economical.

See, I bought (and I'm still waiting for) Books 1-3 (they should arrive tomorrow, so the postal service says) but then I saw that the Compendium is really Books 1-4, and it would be cheaper than buying the four books individually. HOWEVER, if there's extra stuff in the books, then I don't mind paying the extra for them (and I practically got one book free with my birthday gift certificates :D )

All I know is, first chance I get I'm buying book 4 & 5 'cause I know I won't be able to last once I finish reading 3 :P I made that mistake with Lord of the Rings when I thought 'I'll just buy the first one to see if I like it and then buy book two...' and I was going insane in the day it took me to get to the bookstore haha

But...the Compendium doesn't have the covers or any extras, does it? So I'm not missing much, right? Plus, I'd rather have several hardcovers than one big awkward paperback *nods*

Erm....the Compendium should be books 1-8 plus the Christmas issue.

That darn Postal Service needs to get back together again and make another album and then maybe the mail will arrive on time.

Ba da dum!

As a Hero I used to fight on the side for good. I learned it's boring. Being a villainous hero is much more fun!

I thought there were only 5 books so far, and the 6th is coming out in October? You probly mean Volume 1-8? which would be books 1-4, as is my understanding. Issues 1-48?

Yeah, 1-48. I thought you were referring to softcovers, my bad.

ahhh see, I thought the 'compendium/book/volume/issue' thing might be a little confusing. I'm a librarian so I'm used to that sort of distinction all the time ^_^ I just wasn't sure how many issues were in each book/volume, so I had to look it up ^_^

At first I thought the compendium was a sort of...companion to the comics, not the comics themselves, which is the reason I didn't just buy that instead of the Books. It was only after I heard the actors talk about being given the compendium to read when I realized it was just one massive volume of the first huge story arc, so to speak. (I heard every 12 issues is a mini arc? that's cool :D )

Get the hardcovers, they are well made and will last way longer than trades.   Use the trades to loan out to friends and get more people hooked!

do any of the collections have the letter columns in them, because those things are half the fun to me.  especially the hatemail after the "Michonne Incident."

@ Melly Every 6 issues is one arc. And I think (but I'm not positive) that the compendium is made from lower quality paper than the trades or hardcovers.
