Before you read this there are comic spoilers below.

I know they cast Lennie James (because of the trailer from Comic-Con), but hes not on the IMDB page, so I am not sure about the following.

Are they going to have him only be in the pilot or a couple episodes, or do you think they might switch up his story in the show so that he goes with Rick to Atlanta?

I mean the actor is pretty good, and I don't think they'll want to just have him for one episode, and then not have him back for a few seasons. (I think he comes back in TPB #9 or 10?)

Personally, I hope he sticks around because I like the actor. What do you think will happen?

To the best of my knowledge, he does not travel to Atlanta with Rick during filming.

The television show won't follow the comic series exactly. There are differences shown even in the trailer. My piont is, even if he stays put, it might not take a few seasons for him to come back just because it took 50+ issues in the comic.

I agree with romero on this one...in the trailer he clearly arrives in Atlanta by himself (on the poor poor horsie :( ) so Morgan must show up later. I'd like to see him again too :D

Yeah, I would like it too if he came back after a while, but its hard to get an actor to commit to coming back after 4 or 5 seasons of a show.

i know it won't follow the comic exactly but I doubt they would change somehting as big as having him travel to Atlanta with Rick...he can't go to Atlanta with Rick because that changes the dynamic of the story....Rick has to make that journey alone.

Red is 100% right. You can change little things here and there, but changing the elements that help shape Rick just won’t work. It does look like Morgan's survival might be left up in the air though. His house is surrounded by roamers in the trailer and he's crying over his wife’s picture as he takes pop shots out the window. The writers might not know if the show will get as far as #50 and are giving them an early out when it comes to his story. Perhaps this is how they explain Duanes death?

I wish he could be in the seriesmore but perhaps it will make us appreciate him more whenhe does return and the entire thing with duane is sick and wrong... i'd hate to miss out on that part.  i have heard his part spreads out into episode two.  but i don't remember where i heard that.

yeah they might just leave it open as in they show morgan's house surronded and him about to "die" but they don't actually show it happening that way if they do get that far with the story they can easily write him back in.

I sure hope they don't kill him off in the beginning, but that would be better, IMO than bringing him back down the line with a different actor.
