We did our interview with Robert Kirkman, you can listen here, and he told us that Donna, Alan, and the twins are not in the first season of The Walking Dead. He also told us that the new characters aren't just zombie fodder. They will be fleshed out characters that will have an impact if they were to be killed off. Robert also joked about Michonne being killed off in issue #82. However, what if he wasn't kidding? Alexandria is going to hell and we can definately expect some deaths to happen in the next part of the story arc.

Please don't let this become an issue like Smallville, where the show creates characters who have nothing to do with the comic lore and makes them overly important. I hate that about Smallville. You get the Superman story and then they create one of the most annoying characters ever in Chloe and make her more important than Lois Lane. Now DC is going back and adding her to comics. Fuck that!
Now everyone who hasn't read the Walking Dead comic will fall in love with these characters and think that the new characters should get more screen time than RIck or Lori or Andrea and suggest the writers get rid of others like Glenn or even Dale because they don't like them as much. You may think I sound crazy, but I've lived it with Smallville for ten years! I'll bet anything that chat rooms and forums will be created and this very arguement will be held constantly.
Thank god I have a group of insane brotheren like myself here in our little Alexandria so I will never have to step outside these walls and experience these absolute mind numbing arguements.
That being said, I trust Kirkman 100% and will give these characters a shot, but if the story changes so much that the comic no longer exsists on the screen then I'm out.
As for #82, I can't wait to see what happens. I don't want Michonne to die, but what can you do?

However, if they want to keep characters around longer like Amy or Shane then I'm totally for that.

I think Kirkman mentioned something about characters living longer/shorter than in the comic. I would almost bet that Amy lives longer on the show. Shane too. Otis dies faster.

I can't believe they aren't going to put the twins or them in the show. I know the twins don't play that big a part...i know we fell in love with these characters but really Donna and Allen don't do much to further the plot in the books...i can see them using different characters instead.

Are you kidding me? I love watching Chloe cry every time Clark makes a play for Lana or Lois. Plus... She has a nice looking .... necklace.

Yeah I'm a hue fan of Chloe and her.......Necklace. Read loads of articles on the show and just because theres new characters in or old out you won't see me bitching. I just want then to respect the source and do the characters right. And I want to see what they do with the Woodbury Army.

God, make me wrench guy.! I wish she stayed dead at the end of Season 3. I'm so glad she left at the beginning of this season and Clark seemed completely unaffected by here absence. He was channelling an inner me. They needed to keep Zatanna. As for the new characters, I've since changed my views on this. After the interview I've come to like the idea of a different version of the Walking Dead. It'll be like starting over again. I retract my bitching, but only towards the Walking Dead tv

I cannot believe anyone would hate the lovely Chloe, she was one of the best parts of the whole damn show, aside from Lex.
