I know the covers never tell the whole story, but man.....this issue's cover is very misleading. More than usual. And not even in a 'strategic misdirection' kind of way. Just plain WTF.

It was very misleading, but this issue did have one of my favorite TWD quotes ever. When Rick says "looks like my sniper got yours, you ready to start walking now" I almost lost it.

Wow! This issue was so fucking awesome! I love every issue but this one gave me a hard on! It might not be the best ever but it is best in a while.

Andrea IS SO BAD ASS. I am glade she is on her A game. It looks like this is Ricks town now. I love as soon as shit hits the fan everyone listens to Rick.

issue 78

outsiders decide to get to community by night so they can attack the next day. glen goes outside to see what that shot was, to maggie's dismay. rick tells everyone to go home, and then gives jessie a stump to cry on(read it again!_) Talk to duglass about funeral, and andrea too, who is going to snipe instead. I haz a sad dale;( Funeral... blah blah blah, *Gunshot* Rick & construction crew run outside, rick goes to gate, crew gets guns and gets to gate, unseen.  only main outsider at gate. "Little pig little pig, let me in".  rick tell him no, Red sniper dot appears on RICK! rick still says no, "PKOW!" Rick: Huh, looks like my sniper got yours." Andrea kills (sinper, then) head outsider.  other outsiders given chance to leave, still try to shoot way in.  Construction & Rick open fire.  & I mean OPEN FIRE!1 Every Roamer in the world heard it, and are now on the way.  6 Burning bodies outside, and 3 going into the ground inside the community.  Douglass leaves, and rick catches up to him and asks him to say a few words to the town, as they just got attacked from the inside and the outside.  Douglass says he didn't see the inside attack coming, and Would have died without rick from the outside attack.(Andrea as lookout idea)  "They don't need me Rick, what they need is you."

Grade A Bad Ass motherfucking Issue.

I have not gotten my issue yet, ( got off work late) but I love the recaps you all tell.  I want some more info so lets have it......

It's just great. All those Davidson conspiracy theories, that he's still alive, he's coming back to the Community, that Douglas is actually Davidson.

It was a pretty awesome issue, besides the sillymisdirection on the cover. That had to be one of the best splash pages Charlieever did toward the end. It’s in the top five at the very least.

It’s pretty awesome that just a couple of issues ago,everyone thought Rick was bat-shit crazy, and now he’s the leader of the entiresafe zone. I guess Kirkman’s saying you need to be more than a little nuts to survive in this world.

Great issue!  A lot happened and not in the manner in which I thought it would.  I'm glad the cover didn't happen.  I want Andrea to continue on living but I think its too early to forget Dale.  And we got zombies!  Lots of 'em.  I think thenext arc will be one of the best if the teasers aren't too teasing.  Best book on the pile this week.

Loved this issue! Gave me all kinds of goose bumps, especially the end.

sad that i felt i read it in 3 minutes... now i have to wait till   next month to know whats  going to hapen with all those walkers

Moogley is right. Dale must not be forgotten. The one thing that bothered me is the goof up with Pete's last name. Is it Anderson or Dotson?!!

A couple observations:

Morgan got a haircut.

During the burial, Douglas was looking at Davidson's grave. What do you think was going through his mind at the time? I think he realized that it's his time to pass the torch too. 

Siekone, why is Scott not crossed off on the character list map?

Seikone is going to try and get one for me, but if any of my fellow TWD family happens to be able to grab a cover variant at LBCC....I would be forever grateful! That's ME on the cover! I would LOVE to have one to keep :-)

solid issue, i love how rick is still the man in charge, hes such a crazy bastard theres no reason for him not to be

I remember a few issues back, when readers were complaining about how it's unrealistic that Abraham, Tobin, and the construction crew's gunfire to save Holly didn't attract zombies to the Community. (When they were still putting up the reinforced walls on the outside)  The gunfire did attract zombies, just like any other gunshots  have in the series. It's something that the reader just have to sort of assume happened offscreen. It was just that they were still too far away from the Community at the time to really waste panels to show this. It wasn't time for the big reveal yet. And personally, the delayed reveal of the zombie herd knocking on the Community's doorstep made it even more dramatic. It allowed them to slowly creep up close enough to where they truly are a threat now, within striking distance after the scavengers led them to Team Grimes.
