With this zombie invasion across the world today and the premier tonight in LA I think, TWD looks to be the next BIG thing to hit pop culture but in a way that has never been done before. I think this is going to beyond HUGE!

And soour lil best kept secret will be consumed by the masses, ingrained into pop culture and mass trends. We already have the plush zombie doll,Hot Topic T Shirts and soon novels. Am I the only one slightly saddened by the cheapening of 8 years worth of most of our lives?

I am a bit saddened too. Going mainstream is like diluting your favorite beverage.Yes, you have more liquid, but is it as potent? Does it have the same kick, pack the same punch? Hopefully the core fanbase stays intact. Not like Final Fantasy. You don't know who's who anymore. I am gonna miss being surprised to find a TWD fan in my area. If there's people talking about it left and right, that's great. But the last thing I want is for TWD to be the new Twilight, and teenagers complaining about why there's not enough car explosions, sex scenes, and killing just for the sake of killing. I dread that day, man. I do. That's as bad as saying Aladdin is the same thing as Hostel.

I just had to comment on the NEW fanboy stuff talk here. I have been a JUGGALO ( icp fan ) since 1995 and every year I have seen new dumbasses at the concerts and with more fans came more t-shirts and watchs, and stickers and shit. If you guys are worried about merch you dont have to buy it. Yes, I am worried about the luster of the series but I know that KIRKMAN will continue to keep the series true from month to month. The show may go a little weird if darabont and kirkman stop being exec producers. I say keep your money on the comics and sell that shit when little tommy i luv the show is willing to pay a grand for issue one. Who knows? when those new weekly reprints come out. the first printings will set your box on fire! New fans ,New shit, No problem Kirkman gets paid I love the comics and I love the show and I love you guys. If it wasnt for new fans this site would still be a hand full of us jokers talking about their farts again.

don't worry guys. the michonne/governor scene will clear away a lot of these half-faggots. and probably gain more. goes with the territory, i suppose...

as long as the show is good i dont' care what shit they put out about it...i can ignore that shit...as long as the comic and the show stay good and don't get stupid. speaking of which I was watching Football last night and at Oklahoma University the sooners had a zombie 5K run where they chased people and infected them via flags as in flag football

Well it does make me feel better when Kirkman said that the comic is the priority, first and foremost, over the tv show.

I feel that both the show and comic are in good hands. I do fear the zombie implosion that decimated the vampire mythology but if the characters stay real and no punches are pulled, I think the Wqalking Dead will survive the swing of the pendulum (sp?). It is wierd seeing t-shirts at hot topic and talking to peoplpe that are so into zombies now. It was fun when it was more of a cult thing but I'm one of those that doesn't always like to share his belongings. That being said, I wish Kirkman and the gang the greatest of success. And judging by last night's pilot, we're on the right track. And the comic should ALWAYS come first. And I believe it will.

It is very weird to see Walking Dead shirts at Hot Topic. But the series is a good ambassador for what the zombie genre should always stand for. I don't like anything I love to become watered-down. Am I being selfish? Yes. I have my reasons.
