So what did you guys think of the fence climbing zombies?  I hope they don't ride horses too :)

I go with the notion that zombies have rudimentary skills. With that being said, I didnt care much for the fence climbing. That takes some skill even for a human. I just do not see zombies doing that.

Now, I will say that I am less critical about the tv show then I am about the Comic. Why? I dont know, maybe because I just feel like having fun when I sit and watch the tube.

Yeah if they can climb a fence, they why can't they climb the ladder to the roof?  I thought Darabont was sticking to the Romero rules.  NO CLIMBING ZOMBIES!   They shambled a bit too fast for my taste too, almost like they were race walking... Otherwise, I loved the show

Maybe they were trying to ride Ricks horse, but go lost in the blood lust

The prison will have concrete walls with barbed wire I bet.  The zombies will just dig under it though :P

hmm well it  gives more "action" to the scene for sure...

about they climbing or not... only one got to do it and was more because had his arms up and got in contact with the top part of the fence... then was easy to climb

if they can tear a horse apart for sure they have enought strenght to once they grip something just pull it or like in this case.. climb...

this zombie was "lucky" because he grab the top part of the fence.. thats why no other  zombie did the same.... probably liek the zombie with the piece of cement on his hand  hiting the door at the store.. probably  this guy die defending himself with that and as a zombie he still have it... maybe  the bones stayed like "frozen" post mortem in that position

You have to remember that most of the dead are still fresh and haven't suffered from decay and a lot of rigimortis as of yet. Thing I don't understand is it's not like anone knows how much brain activity one of the undead have. People complain about the dead climbing fences, but what about the fact the dead are walking perid? It's just entertainment. Not like there's some real world proof to prove any of it. :P

The climbing/problem solving/running zombies are making it hard to enjoy the show for me.

Are you kidding me Darby?  I made those into a slide show screen saver!  It's like a piece of art work

I agree. They were slow in the pilot. Now their running around, climbing. It's not the "Running Dead"! Maybe it's the directors fault. She needs a zombie expert on set.

The deadheads almost ran, and I caught myself yelling"No running!"

at the tv screen. It was more like a fast shuffle. Almoooooost.  But yeah, I didn't like it. Or the picking up rock. Or the climbing. I will give it the excuse that since it's the Romero zombie-based, there was the zed that picked up a rifle in D.O.T.D. original. So the one zed picking up the rock is acceptable. A climbing zombie, no.

Bub from "Day" would've been smart enough to, but that's a very very rare exception and took lots of training.

in the pilot Darabont's zombies picked up their favorite teddy, maneuvered to where a gun was shot, tried to open doors via the ol' door knob trick, stood up and walked out of a bus, and knelt down to check for food under the tank... so i was expecting more of the smart  zombies...  also the sort of intelligence these zombies express is nothing compared to what  was portrayed in Romero's Land of the Dead (i.e. machine gun wielding gas attendant zombie)...  they also said in interviews that the book and the show were separate universes... that being said i enjoy both the book and the show and respect them for what they are individually and most of all i love the fact that Kirkman's dumb-as-hell-snake-in-the-grass-catch-up-to-you-while-you-sleep zombies are still everyones favorite :D
