I was at a gwar concert the other night...ha ha...gwar...rules.

and i had a zombie epiphany mid concert.

All the fans watching lada gaga getting her breast ripped open on stage, getting sprayed by the fake blood spouting out of her skinless mameries...

They were reaching for the blood,  all hands in the air in the direction of blood...

Not unlike the scene in the first resident evil where the girl's bitten hand is dripping blood on the zombies below, while she is crouched overhead on the pipes in the sewer or something below the hive.....the way the zombies reached for blood....

Now i have been a zombie movie fan for a long time...even dressing as a zombie at age 11 in 1987 (we are all way ahead of the zombie curve, lol)

But now i am encoutering zombie fans everywhere..even a few that say they are fans, and i had to explain that they missed the first 2 episodes of the walking dead....sigh

MY POINT issss......

Zombies in a well done zombie movie turn the movie into an epic disaster movie, where we watch all of society get eaten or join the ranks of the undead....

"those who get lost in the shuffle are doomed to shuffle along with the lost"

We all know things are not being run right in america, and our culture is morphing into crap none of us like.

We know the idiot zombified masses that looted in new orleans arre gonna loot everywhere else during economic collapse which is being predicted for next year by more and more figure talking heads.....

Masses of hungry people, scavenging neighborhoods, busting into house after house looking for what few scraps of food there are, killing those who resist, and causing other to join their ranks after being robbed...in the quest for food and supplies.....

I have friends who have been buying eat-able and tradable commodities preparing for a weimar republic in america.....sugar buy the bag, flour, canned goods, guns, ammo, even ammo for guns they dont have cause it is cheap and could be traded....rolling tobacco, small bottles of vodka and whisket that are 3 bucks a bottle...for trade.....

and while they are discussing their plans....they always say the same lines, "well we should do this too, cause when the zombies come...."

They also make jokes among themselves....."organize before they rise"...

The zombies are the pop culture addicts who will become dangerous during times of shortage, gwar kills the pop culture gods we truly dislike and we bath in their blood at a show....but their fans,..........

the zombified lil monsters, whose life was "jersey shore" and "bad girls club".......

They will be dangerous and need to be put down in an absense of authority...they will bring the disharmony to survivor groups who let them in, they will want more then their fare share....

Gwar releases the steam, by killing effigies of the pop culture gods that encourage mindless zombie-ism

Just like on deadset the show...remember the guy opening the door cause he was a billy bad ass pop collar duchebag who could not take what the girl was saying seriously till the first zombie rushed in...then became as useless as the rest......

DOES ANYONE GET WHAT I AM SAYING?

Zombies are the metaphor for what is wrong, and who is wrong in society, and we wanna watch it connibalize its self, consuming ever bit till there is no tainted spoiled brat flesh left.

So the survivors, the hard workers can rebuild in the absense of this current nationwide mass stupidity and selfishness.

do ya feel my thoughts on this?

I used to think that reality t.v. was hillarious just like you. Then one night I was on acid and tried to watch Jersey Shore and I literally could not watch it. It just made me feel sad that this is the direction our society is going and that these are the people we idolize. A few days later I was stumbling and I found this http://americaisretarded.com/, I havent been able to watch any of that mindless bull shit since. I just feel like this is being used to dumb down the masses and keep us in line.

Sorry for the rant, but I really hope that this reality show shit is over with soon.

well see the problem was that you were on acid, and american isnt the only one that has reality tv and is getting dumb, its alot of places in the world, we just live in the reality tv age where we like to see what everyone is doin, hell even were all guilty of it by just coming here and talkin bullshit with each other, thats why there is so many networking sites nowadays and all that, the world is changing and it might be for the good, we just cant tell yet, atleast the aliens are comin in 2012 to evolve us more, you can always look forward to that, i dont k now why i love commas so much

buying supplies is not crazy

glenn beck, alex jones, michael savage, and even george soros now recommend it before inflation next year....

they just use the zombies as the metaphor to make it fun...

and the idiots on reality t.v. are idiots...some of us watch to laugh at them...like at the american idol tryouts.........but then you have teen girls tryin to be snookie......and teen boys wanting to mimic "the situation"

those are the zombies

dont take offense so easily

no no. lol...in iwesley's comment he said he took offense about my feeling towards reality shows... that's what i meant..

iwesley- and yes all of us real zombie fans do like to watch a ghoul be a ghoul and gorge on flesh to the horror of their victims....

but my first comment is in reference as to why sooo many others are now becoming zombie fans....so my theory about society and pop culture is a reference to that.....they as well as all of us know something is wrong, and watching zombies swallow society is how they get a temporary fix over the crack.

i agree with a lot in the OP, i think it's why many of us sort of wish that a zombie apocalypse would happen.  the great reset button for society.  and odds are, none of us would live long enough to see the new society rise up and eventually fall back into its same sad trappings.  which we all know it would.

but the recent craze is just that; a trend.  and a lot of idiots are jumping on board as we speak.  just like the vampire revival in the '90's.

I like zombies and zombie movies cos i see them as a metaphor for society against the individual. Its that fear of being swallowed up by the masses and being "one of them"

Thats how Ive always viewed it anyhow

REDHOLLYWOOD-ha ha ha ha ha...while reading your post about being fat zombie food, i had a mental flashback to the early scene in "Zombieland" where the fat kid was getting chased down by a zombie on that football field.

Red, I'm of the glandular club myself but, I don't fear the Zombie Apocalypse, Zombies won't and can't run. Besides, like 70% of Americans are fatter than us, why would they move any faster? Just move to Texas and they'll think you're an athlete the virus erupts. Hell they might even make you their leader.

The reason I love zombie stories is because I love the survival aspect of it. I love stories about having to start fresh and rebuild. I just love the struggle aspect, seeing humanity's true nature unfold. I also love the adventure of it. I'm actually not a huge fan of gore.

As a Hero I used to fight on the side for good. I learned it's boring. Being a villainous hero is much more fun!

Personally, I love the survival aspect. The way people change and improvise according to the situation. Does is make them stronger mentally or does it wear them down? Plus I think zombies are just plain rad and am a pretty big fan of gore. The zombie apocalypse is rich with symbolism, but really it's all open to interpretation. Underdogs v. Bullies. The thoughtful v. Consumerism.

Lower Class v. Corporate America. Outcasts v. Pop Culture.

I also look at it as Man v. his Inner Demons. Whatever it is that brings you down, stand your ground and keep fighting back!

Personally I'm a fan of zombies because I love the survival genera in general. As creepy enough as it sounds, I love the idea of trying to outlive what once was your friends, family members, and neighbors, as they try to eat you.
