well i have been doin some thinking....

I, like the rest of you, was very dissappointed with the direction the show went.

BUT, in all truth, when reading The Walking Dead Compilation 1, i did wonder early on, when they were leaving atlanta....why did they not stop by the cdc..? i decided, that there were WAY to many zombies to attempt, yet in the show they do it with little or no zombie interferance.

When they encountered the walkers outside the cdc, some were not still waiting when they blew out the window to escape........having watched food go through the door you would think a small army of atlanta's previously unrotting citizens would have amassed in all their putrid glory.

SOOOO, i am betting that they are aiming at a slightly more intelligent audience then typical wal mart mouth breathers, by inserting the cdc. (it would be cool if they would take some cues from shows like apocalypse man...and apocalypse pa, to be able to do some nifty post society cool ass maguyver shit that actually works...like wood fueled gasifiers for vehicles, or draw fuel up from the ground tanks at a gas station with a modified bisycle pump...which i thought they might try last nite when they were searching the fuel in the basement) but i regress.

NOW THAT THE CDC IS OUT OF THE WAY, and they have TRULY hit the road....i would not be surprised if they do find the zombie filled gated community from volume 2 (remember the snow melting from the sign.."dead inside")

So basically they had to wrap up the loose ends at their current location before truly sending them out into the world, showing that they are on there own, goverment is not there for them...

(if goverment still existed and had supplies, it would have kept the cdc from going all thermobaric with some of the cheesiest fire effects since m. night shyamalan's "air bender".)

no goverment, no one trying to solve the problem, only hope and the need to keep on moving...

(like the old show wagon train...to quote the movie... Stand By Me "wagon train is a good show but did you notice they never get anywhere, they just keep wagon training"

one loose end they did not touch....the helicopter from episode 1....guess it is long forgotten, or it's only point was to draw rick into a crowd of zombies (probably the later)

ONE LAST POINT....does anyone watch true blood? it goes way off the books, kinda clings to them, but constantly goes into new territory and tweeks the story line....it upsets the trueblood books die hard fans as much as we have become upset by all the changes as fans of the comics of The walking Dead.

So here is to the show HOPEFULLY GETTING ON TRACK...ish.... for season 2.....

May it become the never ending zombie movie we all want, and may the slight changes here and there surprise, amuse and excite us...the fans of the comics as much as it might excite those who know nothing of the Walking dead world, and carry it 10 seasons.

Even with though there was a good bit of stuff I didn't like being added in to the series, there were just as many awesome points they added too. So, all in all, I'm satisfied with the season as a whole.

I noticed in the post episode 5 interview with Kirkman, he talked about having to sort of "train" the audience to get over wanting to figure out the show and what caused the zombie apocalypse, so hopefully the finale did just that, by having Dr. Jenner pretty much say "We have no idea, and we're the most likely people to be able to figure it out, so yeah, no one knows."

And yeah, I can't wait for the little comuntiy stop off either. It's definitely one of the more iconic scenes from that volume of the trades. Plus Tyrese might show up too. Both would be good indications of the show getting back on track.

It's a Vertigo book written by Scott Snyder, and Stephen King did a back up story in the first five issues.

Pretty much, the premise is that there's more than one type of vampire. And when they move to different areas, sometimes there's a bit of a mutation that gives that region's vampires unique abilities. The first trade came out like last month I think.

Oh, and Rapheal Albequrque is the artist, and he's draws some badass vampires.

Totally worth checking out.

I really enjoyed the series - I liked the way the whole series has gone.

I think that the search for why it happened, how, and how the zombies became zombies in the first place would be interesting areas to explore in the comic that have been virtually ignored in the comic because they are to busy just trying to get by.  I would think even they though would wonder about these types of issues.

i think the comic does a good job of showing that they do wonder about that stuff hence them following Ugene and what he says will lead to those answers...i think they did good in the tv show showing the need for those answers but also showing that it won't be so easy to come by...in reality it would take a while to figure those things out and if everything was in utter chaos coming by that information would be even harder.

Episode 6 made me want to throw up in my mouth.  So many cliches and bad explosion effects.  Ok, they answered the question that there is no govt support for sure, but couldn't they have figured that out from the thousands of troop carcasses and vehicles in the city?
