I started a post last season about Merle Dixon being the Governor.  I wanted to through it out there again based on season 2's direction.  We are getting closer to the introduction of the charater. Merle has and is playing up what I feel are the Govenor's key personality trates. (if he is alive?!?)

What do you think? From seeing the third episode I have my suspicions. nasty son of a bitch....Rick is responsible for handcuffing him to the roof....losses his hand(change in plot from the comic)....maybe thats the reason the Governor takes his hand.....maybe thats why he goes after and kills his wife(change in plot from the comic)

Also I saw this in an artical from TV Guide.--"The Walking Dead: 10 Things From the Comics the Cast Can't Wait to Play".  This was listed at #4.

While many have speculated that Merle (Michael Rooker) could become The Governor, since he too is missing a limb, Darabont was quick to shoot down that idea. "Merle will not be The Governor because what a lame and obvious course that would be," he said. "[But] I could change my mind because I'm willing to be lame and obvious just like everybody." Added comic creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman: "It doesn't make Merle any less important a character to have him not be The Governor."

well...durabont is out, anything can happen...and yeah...i think merle is the governor

Yes anything can happen, doesn't mean it should.  However, I say screw it go for broke.  I want aliens to come into play!  I want Lori to give birth to twin boys named Ben and Billy then flashforward ala Lost style to them as eight year olds where Ben slaughters Billy and then Carl puts a bullet in him.  Then flashback in a flashforward to Shane douching it up on screen and becoming the Govener way before the govener is supposed to show up. Then we flashforward in the flashback of the original flashforward to Shane killing RIck at the end of season 2 and taking over the show.

Im still waiting for that Merl epe we were hearing about.

Wasn't there supposed to be an entire epe based on whats happened to him?

how bout they get a real governer to play the governer, like arnold or jesse ventura
