Found a leak to this episode read only if you want spoiled

Episode 7: "Pretty Much Dead Already" Episode opens with Glenn revealing the presence of the walkers to the rest of the group, who promptly proceed to freak out. Maggie becomes angry with Glenn for not keeping the secret and ruins his hat in retribution. Dale gives Glenn his trademark hat as a replacement. Maggie later makes a plea to Hershel for the group to stay. She and Glenn also have an argument about the walkers, after which they eventually admit their feelings, kiss and make up. Rick and Hershel argue, with Hershel demanding the group leave within a week. Rick uses the my-wife-is-pregnant card, but Hershel's not persuaded. Shane also wants the group to get the hell out of there because of the walkers in the barn, but Rick uses the same excuse to cool him down. However, Shane then becomes convinced that Lori's baby is his. Dale takes off with Shane's guns to hide them in the swamp. Shane tracks him down and demands he give the guns back. Dale points his rifle at him and threatens to shoot. However, he backs down at the last moment, since he has no wish to become like Shane: he reveals that he knows Shane shot Otis and lied about what really happened. Shane heads back to the farm with the guns. Hershel has Rick help him and Jimmy try to fish some walkers out of a nearby pit of quicksand and lead them into the barn with snare poles. He says the group can stay on the farm if they agree not to kill the walkers. They arrive at the farm about the same time Shane emerges from the swamp and hands out guns to other members of the group. Shane sees the snared walkers and goes berserk. He yells at Rick and Hershel as they guide the walkers towards the barn, with the rest of the group and people in the farm looking on. He pulls his sidearm and unloads it in the chest of one of the walkers, demanding to know "Could someone who's alive just take that? Why is it still coming?" Hershel has no answer. He finishes off the walker with a headshot, grabs a nearby pickaxe and breaks open the barn door. Walkers pour out, T-Dog, Daryl, Shane, Glenn, and Andrea form a line and open fire. Once the dust clears, one more walker emerges. Sophia. Rick finally steps up next to the others, pulls his six-shooter and kills Sophia with a shot to the head. End episode.

Damn myself... my desire to discover spoilers is rivaled only by my desire to be surprised every episode.  I'm hoping this is a bogus leak and I didn't just read a full play by play for the next episode, lol.

I did some quick digging around and found the alleged picture of zombie Sophia here: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/TheWatchtower/news/?a=50184

Could be legit though... some TV reviewer said the following about the episode:

“The final five minutes were intense, horrifying and, ultimately, deeply poignant. Elsewhere, two characters (literally) kiss and make up, Rick does something to a zombie he has never done before, and someone makes a surprising return.”

Which seems to match up with the play by play leak.  I guess we'll find out for sure on Sunday.

These released photos from the episode appear to support it too (Maggie talking to her dad, Rick lining up a shot with his revolver, Rick talking to Hershel - though we already knew that was going to happen in the teaser trailers - and Shane walking with his bag of guns and giving/taking one to/from Daryl): http://www.examiner.com/entertainment-in-west-palm-beach/the-walking-dead-season-2-episode-7-previews-photos-and-spoilers-picture#slide=40162146

I hope this is some truth-mixed-with-bullshit misdirection though, and the surprising return is Merle :D

This might just be my exit episode. Im done with these writers. I will only continue watching if I can be gaurranted this show will never follow any piece of the comic from here out. No prison arc, no governor, no Michonne. Do not sully my beloved comics good name with this melodramatic emotional dawsons creek WB garbage. I know you all love this show, but it just grates on my nerves how inconsistent the writing is and how choppy the storyline are. I am fully aware that I will persecuted for my Walking Dead jihaudist preaching but whatever

Juggs - I love you, but I really don't think it is.  The make up, the kills, and most of the actors are stellar (most).  However, the story is weak and all over the place.  Their resolutions feel forced like they didn't quite know how to get the storyline to where they wanted it and ran out of time.  Maybe it's because they fired Frank so late in the game and had to rewrite everything. but as I writer I can see the piss poor effort.  As a fan of TV and zomies I also feel insulted that they appear to be thinking "Horror fans are just as mindless as the zombies they love".  Seriously, I think this is how the convo went for the Sophia story,  "How do we resolve the sophia issue?  Well shit I'm out of ideas and we've been so focused on the high school drama aspect of these "adults" that we've run out of time.  I know, we'll put her in the barn.  Say that Hershell somehow find her turned into a zombie 24 hours after she got lost and three hours before Carl is shot.  Horror fans wont question it because they accept everything at face value.  Why explain the reason that none of Rciks crew thought to ask Hershel if he'd seen a little blonde girl wearing this type of shirt?"

Look, the gore, the violene, and  the makeup are all fantastic.  Really top notch, but the writing is pathetic.  I feel like we invested an insane amount of screen time looking for Sophia and are geting zero payout.  The same feeling for going to the high school/FEMA depot.  None of that story made any sense.

Use the truck's loud as engine to draw the zombies away.  Don't shoot blindly behind you as shooting a zombie anywhere but the head is pointless.  Don't waste your bullets.  If you're going to kill a guy to use him as a buffer, but need to take his bag - shoot him in the head.  Also, there was no point to shoot Otis except to make Shane more unlikable!

And now Dale has suddenly become freaking Matlock and can figure out that Shane killed Otis? Really, was he a retired detective or something? Did he travel back to the depot and exaimined the body then determined the bullet hole in Otis's knee cap was from Shanes hand gun. Did he also remove his sunglasses and make a stupid/witty catchphrase?

Yeah, sorry about that.  15 hour days really don't give me time to post anymore.  When I do I'm usually all pissed about driving five hours round trip for work.

I promise to most more again, though I make no promises of being a positive peter

Hm, most of this is right, you just ruined the show for me a little more :(

I just dont see the point why they do not simply use the books as a guideline, they were so brilliant (until 70something)

Maybe the Sophia thing that leaked is just one dream sequence of rick, that makes him go out and continue search the girl.

I've rained on another parade.  My work here is done.

I can see the reason behind not using the comic as a guideline as the story would become very predictabe.  However, if you are going to adapt the story try to keep it on the same level writing wise as the original.
