Something I've wondered about, regarding a take on infection like TWD (comic, and maybe we'll find out on TV version too): If everyone who dies becomes a zombie, whether bitten or not, how could you trust sleeping in the same room as other people? People die in their sleep from natural causes; if you don't have to be bitten, it seems like at some point it's inevitable that some person sleeping next to another will die and reanimate - and start feeding on the person sleeping next to them. I've been waiting for Kirkman to do something like that in the comics since he established that you don't need to be bitten to turn after you die. I'm not the first/only person to be thinking this, am I?

Interesting thought process there, I think it may take a while for someone to change but I am not sure it is a specific time frame or not?

No, you're not the first person to think the same thing. I know it makes the situation so much more dangerous, for the resons you've mentioned and such a major twist to deal with. However, I think it's a "trial" too far for the human race to survive. Unlike the usual zombie situation: you beat the zombies you win, in this "world" everyone is a zombie, some just haven't turned yet...

Of course, a cure might be found, though surely unlikely after the fall of civilisation.

Hmmm... If you're married, a preemptive "dispatch" could be described as self-defense - just sayin'

And make sure you don't fall down the stairs or catch a fatal disease or infection etc. Unfortunately, without a cure, in the world of TWD, everyone is doomed.

IDK, not sure if they've said exactly regarding someone who dies on their own. I seem to recall them saying it could take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days in the comics - but that might have just been specifically time to die and turn from being bitten. They had time to dig a grave and burry someone in comic, so at least that long - whether or not it's the same for everyone is another thing. For sleeping though, the person next to you could have a heart attack and die 30 mins after you knock out; if you sleep for 8 hours, could be more than enough time to happen. It just seems to me like it's begging to be written...

Yeah, for all the different takes on the zombie apocalypse - everyone being infected (just not everyone is a zombie yet) and sprinting zombies seem like the most hopeless situations. If I have to be bitten to turn, and if they're slow(ish) I would feel like I have a chance and there's some hope for humanity.

I wouldn't trust taking a dump in a public restroom, cause people die on the shitter all the time and I really dont want a zombie with it's ass covered in crap when it comes to bite me
