Ok, kidding aside.  Physical training is definately essential in the zombie new world order.  Besides the obvious needing to be fit to survive factor, it would be essential to one's mental health.  Since people would be mentally hanging on by a thread, might as well develope good habits.

As a Hero I used to fight on the side for good. I learned it's boring. Being a villainous hero is much more fun!

Just so everyone can see my tips:

Take it from a Certified Hero: Scavenging is Surviving

Don’t be like so many thousands who will be afraid to “scavenge” for supplies. The rules of Society will be long gone by the time a full fledge outbreak occurs. Take what you need to survive.

Learn to scavenge correctly, only take items that will help you survive. Gadgets and Gizmo’s will become useless as they require power and take up space. Cars and toys will also be useless as vehicles require gas. They also make a lot of noise and will attract more zombies. Instead look for the practical; weapons, canned or preserved food, clothing, medicine and first aides, or tools. Don’t gather too many foods with short expiration dates unless you have a large group that will consume it. Also, don’t take more than you can hold as the weight of these items will slow you down and make you more susceptible to zombie attacks.

Finally, don’t be afraid to scavenge off the dead. You can pay your respects, but being afraid to disrespect the dead is just a useless aspect to morality during a zombie outbreak. Check boot sizes, useable clothes, and supplies on the dead you put down or run across. Think of it like this – what are they going to do with it? They’re dead, why let it go to waste?

Silence is a Survivor’s Best Friend

Too many survivors make the mistake of relying on shotguns and handguns for dispatching the dead. It may make you feel more “Hollywood”, but it will also doom you to live a short life. A single shot can echo for miles drawing more dead to you. Instead use guns sparingly or incase of emergencies. Remember it like this, “The More Shots You Take, The More Danger You Make.”

Instead, train with melee weapons such as knives, machete’s, baseball bats, and axes. These weapons will prove to save you more in the long run.

No, but they dont need to breathe so they can hide at the bottom of the lake or ocean and get a hold of your feet.
