Why couldn't they have just killed off Sophia in Glenn's place? :( Killing a little girl that way would have been just as horrifying, if not more horrifying.. and Sophia is a useless character at this point.

Very upset over the death of Glenn over here!

It's definitely up there with Tyreese's death in terms of being horrific, because it was a slow death and you had to sit through it. Add the fact that he was about to start a new life, about to have his own child, looking forward to being a father, that's what makes it even more sad. I read it midnight last night and my stomach still hasn't gone back to normal.

I just recently downloaded batman arkham city for PS3, and there`s a neat part at the beginning where BRUCE WAYNE gets arrested and while he`s going to Arkham city (apparently a city sized super  prison), and while you`re getting into the prison, you encounter some aggressive prisioners (it`s mostly meant to get your comfortable with the controls).  But, bruce wayne is able to dodge and counter attack and such.

It's sad....Glenn`s never been in a fight.  It`s too bad he couldn`t pull some kind of ninja move or dodge the bat and and grab NEGAN`s balls (not go be gay...I mean you guys know what the "GRAB SQUEEZE TWIST AND PULL": method does.  BUT...Glenn can't fight.  That's too bad.

While the issue was longer (30 pages)...they spent more time with NEGAN talking.  I'm starting to understand why they're calling it "something to fear".  Captain Obvious tells me this is going to be a GREAT fight!

It's horrifying, I can't believe it. He started out as a kid, remember him throwing up because Rick was cutting up guts so they can wear it? Now..he's just a pulp. It truly sucks, I called it I knew he'd die but it is still difficult to process.

ok... finally got the issue 100 and already read it 2 times... I must said i dont feel dissapointed by Kirkman for this issue, he delivered a good story and i think it was necessary  to sacrifice Glenn for the good sake of whatever Kirkman has in mind for the last  2 issues of "something to fear".

As a normal monthly issue i  could say is good .... but taking consideration all things were said about it, the Lucille thing, the extra size issue, the bloody bath,  the darkest moment on ricks life... I bet many of us feels it was "sold"  as this was the "shit" but ends being just a 8.5/10 issue

Theres no way Glenn is alive... his head like Carl said looks lika a smashed  pumpkin and even Lucille had pieces of Glenn's bain and skull .... but she is a vampire...

The extra size issue... c'ome on!  TWD usually has 21 pages of story... this  time was 29... many of us were expecting around 40...

I must say kirkman write it well.. mostly the  Negan's part... he has more to offer to a story than the governor, I bet Negan and a small part of his men are what is left of the american army in the area... not only by the vehicles they were using but also because their organization, the use of  "New World Order" (made me remember some kind of WWF bullshit from the 90s) ,the way that they can communicate with his differents saviors cells and that they make his face looks like the classic U.S. army officer

I dont know how rick's people are going to deal with  him... just there he had 50 men and i bet theres more  close to hilltop and around alexandria Area and wherever they live...  plus they seems they can fight hard... not like mostly of Alexandria survivors

Some quotes to remember:

To Rick: "I'm Negan and I do not apreciate you killing my men, also, When i sent my men to kill your men for killin my men, you killed more of my men - Not Cool!"

About Carl: ""What's the story on this future serial killer?"

Got to agree with Niupon.  I thought there would be more story.   I was 99% sure that Glenn was going to get killed (I also thought Maggie/Sophia/Carl would get it).    Negan is making a *HUGE* mistake leaving the heroes alive.  His group are used to dealing with the Hilltop who have primitive weapons to defend themselves and no veterans.   We all know how bad ass Rick's group is.  Not having Abraham hurts, but I think we'll see Jesus step up into the badass role.

I'm so excited to see where Kirkman takes us!   This could be an Alamo defense story at Alexandria or the Hilltop, or Rick's group could say "fuck it" and launch a counter attack with just a few of the badass crew (Rick, Carl, Michonne, Andrea, 1 or 2 others for fodder).     I do have a hunch that Eugene is going to play a big part in making some type of explosive/bomb.

This issue really made me feel sick. I was swallowing tears as I read. Seeing Glenn's head smashed like an old Halloween pumpkin was really disturbing. However, the character of Negan was the biggest let down of the issue. He was over the top ridiculous. His dialog was unbearable. We really need a villian that will be built up, so I hope Kirkman uses this opprotunity to invest in him and turn him into someone we really hate. Like 8 issues or something. My biggest dissapointment was in Skybound and Image comics advertising. They flooded us with so much that the hype for this issue left us no option but to feel a little let down.

I thought the same thing at first but killing Glenn will have more of a lasting impact than killing Sophia in the same manner. Sure it would be brutal and gruesome and solidly prove what a sick twisted bastard Negan is. But it would just be going for sheer shock value in the long run since Sophia isn't really that well of a developed character and hasn't really be nothing of note for at least a good 25 issues. Glenn however had just found out Maggie was pregnant, was finally happy and was along for the ride just because he thought it was safer to head for the Hilltop before the shit hit the fan again which basically put him in the wrong place at the wrong time where had he stayed where he thought was the least safe place to be at the time he would have survived at least for a little while longer. It's much more tragic than doing just sheer brutality for the sake of brutality. It was a nice little misdirect making every think there was going to be another massacre like the prison and just kill one character in probably one of the most brutal deaths in the comic ever. I don't even think I paused when Tyreese was killed but just that one image of Glenn trying to cry out to Maggie made me stop and really consider if I wanted to continue reading or walk away for awhile. Sure the beheading was brutal, but Glenn pretty much has his head smashed like a Gallagher watermelon. As much as I'd hate to see Glenn killed off. I really hope there is no chance in hell he survives. It would just cheapen it. Carl getting shot in the face with a doctor nearby survival is plausible. But getting your head smashed in while in the middle of no where there's not even a chance considering the attack most likely attracted some interest from nearby walkers.

Seeing as his head looked like an old jack o lantern stomped in by combat boots, there is no way in hell he survives

Next time on The Walking Dead:

Glenn: Nah guys its cool its just a flesh wound.

Maggie: Hey Glenn you know your other head is  still intact?

I'd agree that it was a bit of a let down given the hype. I'm a bit numbed to murder and torture in this series. The bar is quite high. I actually like Neagan so far. He's really just a man, nothing more. Well, a violent man at the head of a large gang, but still, a man.

I agree that it's likely that these are the remnants of the military. Russia was taken over by gangs of, you guessed it, ex military and KGB after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and that was nothing compared to the zombie apocalypse! Neagan's operation is an extortion racket, probably comprised of networked gangs that operate independent of one another but follow the same the code of violence and "kicking up" to Neagan. This is essentially the way the mafia works, and it is also the way that states are eventually formed, through systematic violence to the point that one institution gains a monopoly.

With the 100th issues arrival I think its time to update the character list..I don't think it was updated since Jessie and Ron.

I enjoyed the issue story-wise, but i must admit it was a letdown. I expected more pages, a bigger result from all the buildup, and more out of Negan. Granted, it's his first appearance, hopefully Kirkman will flesh him out over a long, long time. So far he feels like the Governor 2.0. meet the new boss, same as the old boss. That, and he looks like Billy Butcher from The Boys, so i read everything he says in a British accent.

RIP Glenn, but it didn't really affect me that much. That first panel where the bat first connects is fucking brutal, though. Sometimes less is more. No mess, but the feel is there. So much harder to look at than the gross-out pics that followed. Well done, Charlie!

I just really want to know who got snuffed back at the other place. And why didn't Negan take the women/children? Stupid move. That would guarantee Team Grimes cooperation. Now they face the risk (however low or high they might consider it) of Rick's group retaliating.

Thank you! Billy Butcher! That's who he looked like. It was bothering me

Still haven't read it, only read spoilers- can somebody tell me what exactly Maggie was doing? I keep reading how Glenn apparently calls for Maggie numerous times... is she right there, being restrained? Is she crying or saying anything? :(

She tried to stop it, but Rick stopped her. She cried and pleaded with Rick but was forced to watch Negan swing for the fences on Glenns skull
