Discussion: Re-Walking - THE WALKING DEAD #9 (SPOILERS!)

For those of you that have the trades & hardcovers and don't know where
#9 begins and where it ends.

It starts with a morning exterior shot of the house the group is sleeping

inside.

The issue ends with a splash page of Rick holding a gun to Otis's head screaming,

"I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL F*CKING KILL YOU!"

NOTE:
Please keep the thread only about the subject of the issue. Talk about
writing, art, what you liked, what you didn't like. Re-Reading is a great way
to pass the time between issues.

Thanks!  :)

The absolute best cover of any comic book. Which issue is this in the trades?

I believe it's the second trade. Greatest cover in the series ever! :D

Otis shoots Carl, pretty shocking stuff. Did anyone else forget that Otis was even a character?

He was really under developed as a character. Kirkman just made him angry white guy and killed him off in between issues.

My favorite comic cover of all times.  Otis was really a pointless character for me. I disliked him from the first moment and he never really stood out.  He was such a minor character that his death is just a faint memory.

Starve your fear, feed your life. You'll find that you might be completely different all together.

And then you'll decide which one you like better.

He was one of the few characters that seemed like Kirkman didn't take any time to flesh-out and make him likeable.

I thought somthing was going to happen with Otis being a racist. I think Kirkman killed him off eariler the he planed to.

The one thing I did not like about this issue was the way Carl was drawn when he was shot. Don't get me wrong I got choked up when he got shot but, something about the way he was drawn botherd me.

When I was reading this part of the trade I was right there along with Rick saying "Oh Fuck" when the zombies started pouring out of Wilshire Estates. This is the first issue where something like a herd appears in the series isn't it? I don't count the zombies in Atlanta because they were all just sitting there.

It could be debated. But I think you're right. They where frozen in mass and thawed out in mass.
